I remember when my fiance and I were looking for our first home, we went all over to find the perfect home for us and besides structural integrity,we looked for cleanliness. If a home smelled of urine or smoke, had a dirty roof, siding or windows, it just did not seem as attractive to us. We found that many times the homes that were overall not that clean and taken care of sank to the bottom of our list. Why? If they were not clean they were likely not maintained very well, either. At least that was our conclusion. If your selling your home, here are a few tips to make sure your home is looking its best:
- Ensure that the exterior of the home looks great, especially the front yard and entrance. As they say there is no second chance to make a first impression, so don’t put a bad taste in a potential buyers mouth before they even step inside. Bushes and lawn should be well groomed, trash picked up, siding, roof and concrete should be clean and free of dirt and mold.
- Ensure that the interior of you home is clean and tidy. Clutter and filth are major eyesores for potential buyers and will quickly push your home to the bottom of the list. Carpet should be freshly cleaned, hard floor surfaces mopped, all surfaces cleaned and dusted, especially baseboards. You want the buyer to visualize the home with their own things, it’s hard to do when it’s not looking its best.
- Clean the windows! Who would think clean windows is that big of a deal? I sure didn’t until I went to look at a view from one home and all I could concentrate on was the dirt, smudges, and cob webs on the windows.
Squeegee Klean has cleaned many homes for our client’s who were moving and the funny thing is we get a call or email shortly after that usually reads, ” Thanks so much for doing a great job the house sold the following week !” No kidding either, it’s happened too many times to be a coincidence and from personal experience , I can definitely say a clean, welcoming home is much more appealing than an unclean home.
Best of Luck![/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
